Course Description: Compliance with ethical frameworks and rules is ever more important for accountants. This course will cover all the important requirements, with a particular focus on practical problems with case studies. Topics covered will include:
· Background to professional ethics and the sources of ethical rules and guidance
· How the ‘threats and safeguards’ model works in practice
· An overview of the Code of Ethics for accountants in practice
· Getting to grips with the FRC’s Ethical Standard for Auditors
· Important ‘red lines’ for auditors – what can and can’t be done
· Practical problem areas and how to resolve them
About the Presenter: Peter is a director of Insight Training. Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with an international accountancy firm before working in industry. With over 20 years of training experience, Peter writes and presents technical updates for managers and partners of national firms of accountants and qualified accountants in both the private and public sector. Peter specialises in financial reporting (UK GAAP and IFRS), auditing, practice regulation and company law. He has a particular interest in charity, academy and pension scheme accounting and audit.
